Pro Shop & Cart/Range Attendant responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the tee sheet for both online and phone reservations, checking in golfers, selling merchandise, answering the phone, assisting with events and other duties related to the golf operation.
Outside responsibilities include; but not limited to: greeting the guests, setting up the driving range, keeping the driving range clean, picking up and cleaning driving range balls, staging golf carts, cleaning golf carts, storing the golf carts, assisting with events, “rangering” of the golfers, etc.

Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to correctly perform arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to read and understand verbal instructions, as well as retrieve information from technical sources (computer literacy).
- Ability to visually inspect grounds.
- Ability to use a computer and Windows-based applications (Pro Shop only).
- Ability to perform heavy physical work, which may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly (for the inside staff 2-5 pounds constantly), performing such activities as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to 2 hours without sitting.

Working Conditions
- All employees whether volunteer or paid will have to agree to both a background check and drug test.
- Work both indoors and outdoors.
- Work weekdays, weekends and holidays
Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/solvents, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Volunteer To Coach:
The Harvey Penick Golf Campus is home to First Tee — Greater Austin – a nonprofit organization that provides educational programs to youth that teach life skills and healthy choices via the game of golf. Over 1,000 hours of programs are hosted on-site per year and FTGA always welcomes new coaches to help deliver programs. A coach is a member of the community who is interested in positively impacting our youth. FTGA provides all lesson plans and there is no need to be an “expert golfer.” For information on how you can get involved, click here or contact:

Community Service Projects:
In addition to helping out with FTGA programs, Harvey Penick Golf Campus welcomes groups and individuals who would like to help maintain our facility. HPGC beautification projects include tasks like painting, landscaping, sanding tee boxes and more. Volunteers or volunteer coordinators interested in lending a hand around the campus are welcome to contact:
